Virginia State University

Virginia State University (VSU) is a state-assisted institution that receives limited funding from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Despite this challenge, in 2007, VSU was ranked as a Tier Three university by U.S. News & World Report, making them a quality college selection for students. This status was developed and achieved over the 17-year term of savvy leadership in business by former President Eddie N. Moore Jr.

President Moore brought a wealth of professional fiscal management and personal business acumen to Virginia State University. The Business Studies program at VSU received immeasurable benefit from his diverse experience gained both through public and private sectors, most notably serving as State Treasurer of Virginia prior to presiding at VSU. To help today's college students take advantage of this legacy of learning available in Business Studies at this institution, YES Opportunities has chosen to establish an endowment to provide scholarship support for students majoring in Education and Business Administration at Virginia State University.

Students that qualify for this endowment, with at least a 2.50 grade point average on a 4.00 collegiate scale, shall be selected by Virginia State University's Scholarship Committee. Similar to President Moore, the individuals of YES Opportunities, Inc. have excelled as executives in the business world and entrepreneurs in success owning/operating their own businesses. Both present and past business and social ties to the institution of Virginia State University makes them a prime choice to facilitate this endowment. Contact Mr. Bart Blanks, Stewardship Administrator, at bblanks@vsu.edu or at 804-524-5559 for additional information on the full conditions concerning this scholarship endowment.
